1. Spirituality: We ground our teaching and preaching in the Bible; We grow as Christians through the practice of spiritual disciplines; We worship diversely as one community of faith.
2. Relationships: We value our relationship with God; We value relationships within the church; We value relationships between the church and the neighborhood. We strive to be caring, loving and responsive to the needs of all.
3. Service: We believe our faith is expressed through service to the church and service to neighbors. The history of our church gives evidence that this congregation initiates and sustains ministries and missions, a history we are committed to continue.

At First United Methodist Church of Mineola, we are living by the vision God has given us by: Loving God, Sharing Faith, Serving Neighbors;

The biblical basis for our vision statement is: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27 NRSV)

The mission of the Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world by proclaiming the good news of God’s grace and by exemplifying Jesus’ command to love God and neighbor, thus seeking the fulfillment of God’s reign and realm in the world. The United Methodist Church affirms that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, and the Lord of all. As we make disciples, we respect persons of all religious faiths and we defend religious freedom for all persons.
